Mariah Calhoun is our valued Hospital Manager at Carmel Road Animal Hospital.
Mariah originally joined the SVP team in July of 2021 at Sun Valley Animal Hospital, and joined our team in May 2022.
She is originally from Clayton, New York and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology from SUNY Canton in 2016. Mariah obtained her Veterinary Technician license in August of 2015 and started in veterinary medicine working full time for a large-scale dairy farm and part time for a small animal practice in Ogdensburg, New York. Mariah began working in emergency/specialty medicine in 2018 and took a special interest in Cardiology in 2020 assisting Cardiologists with performing diagnostic procedures and minimally-invasive surgeries to fix heart defects. Mariah moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2019 and began to take interest in skills development and training within veterinary medicine.
Mariah currently resides in Monroe, North Carolina with her wife Kayli, 4 dogs, Despereaux, Harper, Teegan and Galileo, her three cats, Kiki, Hudson and Phineas, and their paint horse Amigo. In her free time, she enjoys creating custom woodworking projects, exploring nature and hiking with her dogs, and taking on a few extra shifts at local veterinary emergency facilities. Mariah also founded a non-profit animal rescue in August 2023.
